Vanice Antrum

Director, Multicultural Student Services Center

Vanice Antrum (She/Her/Hers) is a proud Marylander and has spent her career in higher education focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and student success. Her most recent role was at her alma mater, Salisbury University, where she served as the Director of Multicultural Affairs in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. In this role, she oversaw campus-wide diversity programs, provided training and support for faculty, staff, and students, and developed strategic initiatives to enhance the campus climate for underrepresented communities. A significant experience for her during this time was serving as the co-developer of the brand new First-Generation Sea Gull Scholars Program, Salisbury’s first programmatic effort in supporting all undergraduate first-generation students.

In addition to focusing on diversity and inclusion, Vanice has worked in student activities, student leadership, new student orientation, residential education, and more. Her ability to connect and collaborate across units while bringing attention to the needs of students, colleagues, and community members is a key skill she brings to her team. Whether in her professional life in education or in her personal life as a member of various organizations, uplifting the voices of those historically excluded in society and ensuring that they have access to as much information and resources as possible to be successful is a passion of hers. She is also intentional about supporting those that she engages with as they progress towards their educational, developmental, and leadership goals.

Vanice holds a Master’s of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Salisbury University, and is certified in Post-Crisis Leadership and Leading for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Higher Education. During her graduate and professional careers thus far, Vanice has worked at Salisbury University, Georgetown University, and served as an intern at the University of Texas at Arlington.

An active member of various committees and organizations, Vanice has received numerous awards for her contributions to student life and diversity initiatives, including the Ignatian Care Award for Student Affairs at Georgetown University and the Outstanding Staff Member from Salisbury University’s Student Government Association.

When she is not working, Vanice spends her time with family and friends or reading, listening to podcasts, watching documentaries, and playing competitive board games.
