Shylyn Prentice

Assistant Director, Multicultural Student Services Center

Shylyn ”Shy” Prentice (she/her) is the Assistant Director for the Multicultural Student Services Center.

Shylyn Prentice is a higher education professional committed to fostering inclusive and student-centered campus communities. As a Black feminist practitioner, she grounds her work in equity, justice, and holistic student support. She holds a Master’s degree in Administration of Human Services from Chestnut Hill College, which informs her people-centered and systems-focused approach to leadership. With over a decade of experience spanning financial aid, residence life, and student development, Shy brings a comprehensive understanding of the student experience. Her practice centers diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as foundational (not supplemental) to institutional success. Through strategic programming, advocacy, and relationship-building, Shy works to ensure that every student feels seen, affirmed, and empowered to thrive. Shy hails from Philadelphia and has a deep love for a good book she can get lost in. She’s also a fan of the theatre, where storytelling comes to life beyond the page. When she’s not reading or catching a show, she loves a good line dance, preferably the Electric Slide. And yes, she’s an iced matcha latte snob, always on the hunt for the perfect one.
