Communities & Identities
The Multicultural Student Services Center (MSSC) focuses its work on underrepresented undergraduate students who are racial, ethnic and identity based minority students. The work overlaps with graduate students, international students and other students who develop an interest in learning around diversity and inclusion. Our communities and identities include:
- Asian and Pacific Islander
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer, Intersex and Asexual
- Native American
- Reiligious and Faith
- South Asian
The MSSC staff is the lead contributor for diversity and inclusion in campus life, campus climate and student advocacy. Our programs are developed in conjunction with campus partners during orientation, welcome week, academic year, graduation and transition to alumni stages. Diversity training and cultural heritage celebrations provide exceptional opportunities for students to enhance cultural competency. Specialized academic tracking and retention activities support under represented communities.
